I have tried CloneBD but for some reason it also did not pass through the HDR metadata. I have also confirmed with MediaInfo that it does not retain the HDR metadata. My understanding is it converts 10 bit video to 8 bit and then back to 10 bit if 10 bit is selected. I cannot use Handbrake for this because it has an 8 bit pipe. I would like to compress the video but retain UHD resolution, 10 bit color, HDR metadata, and ATMOS or TrueHD 7.1 audio. I have tested this format on my TVs and Rokus. I would like to encode them as x265 10 bit encoded MKVs. I have ripped a few UHD Blu-rays using AnyDVD and MakeMKV. I have always used Handbrake to encode my DVD and Blu-ray rips. Make a cup of tea and grab a piece of pie… It may take some time…depend on your computer performance and size of the file.I use Serviio to stream x264 encoded MP4s to Samsung smart TVs (some 4k) and Rokus (also 4K) from my home server. 20 is my personal preference as I am pretty happy with the balance between size and image quality. 20 is on the higher quality output, but the size will be a bit bigger. The higher the value, mean the higher the compression will be. (Note: you can experiment any setting you like here…the quality number (20 in the screenshot above), indicate x264 compression level. I change Preset from Medium to Slower, for better image quality/size result. I have no intention to resize the size, so I will leave it there.Īnd I am not pretty happy with current present, so I will change it by clicking Config Codec. Note that the status changes to OK already. As for my case right now, I can convert the specified wmv without BDSup2Sub…but java is needed. Not everything is necessary for your job actually. You may download the appropriate file from their respective website by clicking website button. If there is any missing library like the screenshot below: So, AviSynth is clear… click on other filter as well like BDSup2Sub, ffmpeg, java, mediainfo and virtualmoddub… Just proceed like you always do with any normal application’s installation. Click Setup button to resolve this issue. This indicates the required codec is not installed yet. I choose this sample video, stored in WMV HD.Ī new application popup window will appear.
